Privacy Policy
Manara collects nothing about you. No account, no server, no ads, no tracking. This page explains exactly what that means.
In short
We never ask for a name, email, or phone number. There is no sign-in at all. Everything you do in Manara stays on your device, and we have no way to see it.
We do not sell data, share it with advertisers, or use behavioural analytics tools.
Your location
Prayer times and qibla cannot be computed without your location. When you grant permission, the app reads your coordinates and computes on the device itself using a bundled astronomical library.
Your coordinates are never transmitted to any server — ours or anyone else's. A copy is stored in the app's local storage so it works offline, and is erased when you delete the app.
You may decline location access and pick your city manually. The app works fully this way.
Stored on your device
Your settings (calculation method, madhab, manual tuning, language, theme), your prayer, fasting and tasbih logs, and your chosen location. All of it lives in the app's private storage, unreachable by other apps. Deleting the app erases it permanently.
Notifications
Adhan and iqama notifications are scheduled locally on your device — they do not come from a server. We hold no push token for your device and cannot send you anything.
What does leave the device — and it is little
- App updates: the app checks for updates via Expo. That service sees your IP, device type and app version — like any internet request. None of your data goes with it.
- Only when you purchase: Apple or Google handle payment entirely — we never see your card. A subscription provider (RevenueCat) validates the purchase and lets you restore it on another device; it receives an anonymous random identifier and the receipt, without your name or email.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and collects data from nobody — so it collects none from children either.
Your rights
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing to request deletion or export of. Your data is in your hands: deleting the app deletes it.
